PALO ALTO, U.S. -- Twitter's new owner Elon Musk has reportedly said the social media platform should look to replicate its success in Japan and consider basing engineering teams in India and Indonesia as well.

"It may seem as though Twitter is U.S.-centric, but if anything it's Japan-centric," Musk said during a company meeting Monday, online tech magazine The Verge reported.
