TAIPEI -- Taiwan's MediaTek, the world's No. 2 mobile chip provider, said on Friday it suspended delivery of products to ZTE, after the Taiwanese government issued an order for all the island's companies to temporarily end trading with the Chinese telecommunications equipment maker.
MediaTek's move complies with government regulations following Washington's recent ban on U.S. companies selling technology to ZTE, Rick Tsai, chief executive of MediaTek, said on an earnings conference call with investors.
