Konica Minolta on track for 20% profit jump with printer push

Japanese company will broaden new offerings and counts on China demand

Konica Minolta will strengthen marketing of multifunction color printers in Eastern Europe and expects to sell more printers in China.

TOKYO -- Office equipment maker Konica Minolta's operating profit is expected to climb about 20% to a little over 60 billion yen ($557 million) this fiscal year, buoyed by a broader lineup of new products and strong printer demand in China.

Sales for the year ending March 2019 will likely rise 9% to nearly 1.1 trillion yen.
