Bank of Japan's Kuroda likely on deck for another term

Architect of massive monetary easing seen as key to keeping fruits of Abenomics

Haruhiko Kuroda, governor of Japan's central bank, has been key to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's fight against deflation.

TOKYO -- Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda looks favored to steer monetary policy for another five years after his current term runs out in April.

This month's election victory by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's Liberal Democratic Party essentially guaranteed a continuation of his signature Abenomics policy package. The Bank of Japan under Governor Kuroda tirelessly supported his stimulus campaign through massive monetary easing.
