UNITED NATIONS -- The South Korean president called on Pyongyang to renounce its nuclear weapons program and choose a path to peace in his debut address at the U.N. Thursday, laying out a dialogue-based approach that is at odds with the hard-line American stance.
"We do not desire the collapse of North Korea," Moon Jae-in told the General Assembly. "If North Korea makes a decision even now to stand on the right side of history, we are ready to assist North Korea together with the international community."
