Supermarket chain seen riding acquisition, refurbished stores to record earnings

TOKYO -- Supermarket operator Yaoko is likely to report a record-high group operating profit of around 16.5 billion yen ($147 million) for the year ending March 2018 on store renovations and an acquisition of a competitor.

This would mark a 14% rise over the estimated year-earlier result and the Japanese company's 29th straight year of operating profit growth.
