Mitsubishi Heavy to deliver last of ill-fated cruise ships early

Losses on two vessels for Germany's Aida surpass $2bn

Mitsubishi Heavy delivered the AIDAprima in March 2016, one year later than planned.

TOKYO -- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will move up the delivery of the last of a pair of large cruise ships that have caused huge losses.

Germany's Aida Cruises, part of cruise giant Carnival, intends to place the ship into service in late June. The delivery will take place next Thursday, one month earlier than planned. The two sides have agreed on the schedule.
