Nomura Research Institute's profit seen rising 8% in FY2017

Systems demand from financial institutions picking up

TOKYO -- The Nomura Research Institute's operating profit for the year starting in April is expected to grow 8% from the estimate for this fiscal year to around 64 billion yen ($577 million), supported by a recovery of systems demand from financial institutions.

This would mark NRI's third straight year of record profit. Revenue is projected to grow 6% to some 450 billion yen.
