'Your Name' seen helping Toho reach third year of record profit

Animated hit is second-highest-grossing Japanese film ever

A scene from the Toho animated film "Your Name" was projected on a panorama window at Tokyo's Roppongi Hills complex.

TOKYO -- Movie studio Toho's net profit likely surged 23% to about 50 billion yen ($450 million) for the year ended in February on the back of blockbuster films "Your Name" and "Shin Godzilla."

The company is expected to beat its 47 billion yen net profit guidance to log a third consecutive year of record profit. Sales are seen near projections, likely climbing 2% to around 234 billion yen. Results for the year are due out on April 14.
