TOKYO -- Japanese movie studio Shochiku is expected to post a group operating profit of around 7.5 billion yen ($67.6 million) for the year ended February, thanks to the success of original, high-margin films and increased theater traffic.
Profit apparently stayed roughly flat from the previous year to top the studio's projection of a 14% decline to 6.3 billion yen. Sales are seen up 3% at around 95.4 billion, in line with the forecast.
