Japan plans $8m investment for manufacturing push in India

Factory space for rent being readied for smaller Japanese companies

TOKYO -- The Japan Bank for International Cooperation will invest up to 1 billion yen ($8.51 million) in factories for lease to small and midsize Japanese manufacturers in western India.

Facilities managed by trading company Toyota Tsusho in the Mandal industrial park in Gujarat state will get the investment. Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan External Trade Organization have been courting Japanese corporate tenants for the park.
