JAL partners with Tata group airline to expand India access

Code-sharing deal part of Japanese carrier's overseas growth

NEW DELHI -- Japan Airlines will extend its reach in fast-growing India by teaming with Tata group airline Vistara, the latest step in the carrier's aggressive international expansion.

JAL announced plans Thursday for code-sharing with Vistara on Japan-Delhi flights as well as domestic service within each country by the end of fiscal 2018. The carriers intend to link their mileage programs by the same year or later.
