OSAKA -- Sportswear maker Descente will build new research and development hubs in South Korea and Japan, seeking to raise its competitiveness in materials and design.
The Osaka-based company said Tuesday it will spend about 8.4 billion yen ($76.9 million) on the R&D centers -- one near here for apparel, the other in South Korea's Busan for shoes. The facilities will be completed between the summer and fall of 2018.
