Mitsubishi Motors bringing back scandal-tainted cars

TOKYO -- Mitsubishi Motors resumes domestic sales Saturday of eight models whose fuel efficiency the Japanese automaker had exaggerated.

The RVR sport utility vehicle and seven others fell short of their catalog figures in testing by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Mitsubishi Motors suspended sales starting Aug. 31 until it submitted new figures to the ministry.
