TOKYO -- Hitachi Kokusai Electric aims to pay out at least 30% of its profit to shareholders each year, President Kaichiro Sakuma told The Nikkei.
The Japanese company's dividend payout ratio exceeded 30% in the year ended in March. Even though it expects group net profit to fall 38% to 8.1 billion yen ($79.6 million) this fiscal year, its payout ratio will likely come to 30%. Hitachi Kokusai intends to keep the ratio at that level or higher in the medium term, projecting profit growth driven by mainstay semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
