TOKYO -- Mobile carrier NTT Docomo will lower costs by around 50 billion yen ($489 million) in the current fiscal year through March by streamlining maintenance of network hardware.
The Japanese company plans total expense reductions of 80 billion yen in fiscal 2016. Network-related cutbacks will account for about 60% of the total, with additional trimming in sales promotion and other spending.
