BOJ to weigh tougher hurdles for easing exit

Bank of Japan Gov. Haruhiko Kuroda

TOKYO -- The Bank of Japan plans to discuss clarifying and tightening conditions for unwinding its ultraloose monetary policy in an attempt to boost the inflation outlook by highlighting its commitment.

The debate is expected to take place when the central bank's board meets next week for a comprehensive assessment of its easing policy. The approach will likely involve providing a more specific, longer time frame for keeping the loose policy in place.
