TOKYO -- Japanese beverage giant Kirin Holdings will start negotiating with Dutch brewer Heineken and other companies for a possible partnership to get its struggling beer business in Brazil back on track, including potentially turning its subsidiary there into a joint venture.
Negotiations are expected to start as early as Tuesday. Anheuser-Busch InBev, which controls about 70% of the Brazilian market, and local brewer Grupo Petropolis are said to be among the other potential partners that have shown interest.
