Apparel sales seen lifting Muji operator's profit 15%

Strong demand in China leads rebound in overseas sales

TOKYO -- Ryohin Keikaku, the company behind the Muji line of household goods, expects to report a fifth straight year of record operating profit for the 12 months that ended in February thanks to increased traffic in Japan and improved earnings abroad.

Operating profit is believed to be up 15% to around 44 billion yen ($412 million), topping an earlier company guidance of 42.6 billion yen.
