TOKYO -- Nomura Research Institute will float Australian-dollar bonds for Japanese investors as soon as mid-March, testing a new fundraising option as it seeks to repay loans taken out for an overseas acquisition.

The consulting firm affiliated with Nomura Holdings plans to issue a five-year instrument, targeting such institutional investors as life and casualty insurers. The amount to be raised and the coupon rate have yet to be finalized.
