Record profit may be in store for Muji operator

Ryohin Keikaku has opened 13 new Muji stores in Japan recently.

TOKYO -- The Japanese operator of the Muji brand miscellaneous-goods retail chain likely will end the March-May quarter with a 10% year-on-year increase in group operating profit to about 10.5 billion yen ($95.5 million), a record for that period.

Ryohin Keikaku's sales probably will rise 10% to roughly 85 billion yen.
