Foreign investment into Thailand plummets 90% in 2015

Falling auto sales in Thailand are forcing automakers to refrain from making new investments.

BANGKOK -- Thailand saw a huge plunge in the value of foreign investment in 2015, mostly due to changes to its foreign investment rules, implemented in January last year.

     This will likely add to the country's already sluggish economy, since investment accounts for about 50% of Thailand's total domestic investments.
