FT guaranteed its editorial independence

TOKYO -- Nikkei executives on Friday made clear that they intend to guarantee the Financial Times its editorial independence.

     "We trust the current managing officers and chief editors at the FT," Nikkei President Naotoshi Okada said. "The FT will continue to be the FT. The stronger the FT, the better for Nikkei."
