Suntory nearing sale of cognac unit Louis Royer

TOKYO -- Suntory Holdings is in late-stage negotiations to divest French cognac maker Louis Royer as the Japanese beverage group concentrates its business portfolio following last year's acquisition of U.S. distiller Beam.

Osaka-based Suntory is expected to reach an agreement this month to sell Louis Royer to Terroirs Distillers of France for an estimated 100 million euros ($108 million).
