New Zealand's Key sees TPP deal nearing

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key

TOKYO -- New Zealand Prime Minister John Key sat down with The Nikkei on March 25 and discussed a range of issues. One issue was the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a regulatory and investment treaty that 12 countries are trying to put together. Another was the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, a lender China is trying to launch that would help fund infrastructure projects in the region's emerging economies.

The interview has been edited for brevity and clarity.
